In Scotland, the Norwegian Royal Guard regularly visits the Colonel, Sir Nils Olav. Nils Olav is no simple lord, he is a penguin who lives in the Edinburgh Zoological Park. Kandula, the talented elephant at the Washington Zoo, manages to pick fruit from the trees by hoisting himself up on a stool of his own improvisation.

The Vienna Zoo is involved in many conservation projects and programs to reintroduce endangered species back into the wild, including the Prewalski horses.

Located in the heart of the Brazilian city of Sao Paolo, the largest city in the southern hemisphere, on a patch of virgin forest surrounded by a landscape of concrete and steel, the Sao Paulo Zoo takes in captive and wild animals. Alpacas, woolly monkeys and pelicans happily live side by side. The stars of the zoo are Luciano and Camilla, two very entertaining anteaters.
